The Walton Tribune: Saint Alban’s offers series on spirituality of food in community

In cooperation with Monroe Garden Club, Walton Wellness and Georgia Interfaith Power & Light, this season for lent, St. Alban’s Episcopal Church in Monroe, GA will be offering different classes to help consumers learn how to save energy and water. “Our church always has a series of classes for Lent and we decided this year to focus on food and how food is tied into the community and the spirituality of food,” said DeDe Harris, senior warden for the church. “The Bible talks about food and food is so intertwined into our lives. We aren’t very connected with how our food is grown any longer. This course is about reconnecting with our food and how it is grown as well as what God provides for us and our nourishment.”
