SAN FRANCISCO – Interfaith leaders in California have joined forces to defeat Proposition 23, which would overturn California’s clean air and clean energy law.
The coalition is called Religious Leaders Advisory Committee to Defeat Proposition 23. It consists of Protestants, Catholics, Muslims, Jews and Buddhists.
The Rev. Sally Bingham, president of the California Interfaith Power and Light, says religious leaders have a moral duty to protect the environment and those who suffer most from air pollution.
Bingham also says it’s not right that Texas oil men should be allowed to deceive California voters into voting to poison their own environment.
